Is there anything wrong with a Garmin Venture HC Bundle handheld gps for Geocaching?

It should be just fine, at least as a beginner's GPS. It supports USB connection to your computer so you don't have to manually enter waypoints, holds 500 waypoints which is OK, but you may eventually wish for more capacity, and the topo map can be helpful at times. On the negative side, I don't believe it does routing for travel between caches, and I admit I'm spoiled, but I love paperless caching and the Venture does not support that. Also, no electronic compass which means your batteries will last longer, but on the other hand, you will have to be moving for the compass/pointer to be accurate.
